2018 Nissan Altima Review
The Nissan Altima has changed a lot since the early ‘90s. Over the course of generations, it’s altered its powertrain, shifted body designs, and reformed the size of the interior. And the 2018 model appears to be in line for another major sea change.
The team here at Nissan 24 has put together this 2018 Nissan Altima review to show Brockton, Randolph, and Stoughton drivers exactly what to expect from this midsize sedan.1
Overhauling the Nissan Altima Body
One of the things that the Altima has become known for is the way in which it imbues that traditional sedan body with a little extra flair. Features like its unique V-Motion grille and sleekly angled headlights have given it an altogether stylish look.
However, it seems that the 2018 Nissan Altima (like certain other sedans in its class) will be moving away from the traditional and more toward the sporty. It’s expected that this year’s model will include a fastback body.
The fastback is an old-school sport body that incorporates a sloping roof. While the front of the car maintains a typical shape, the back includes one convex curve all the way down to the rear bumper. Not only does this body look sharper, it also offers the practical benefit of added aerodynamics.
An Interior to Match the Exterior
With an extra sporty exterior, it’s only natural that the 2018 Nissan Altima is expected to have a sportier interior, as well. This change should be reflected in three key elements:
- Sport seating: Sport seating is bolstered with not only extra padding, but extra accents, as well. Common additions are contrast stitching and soft inlays that really make your front seats pop. These are expected as upgrades in the 2018 Altima.
- A sculpted dash: When you think of the most famous cars of all time, they always seem to include a bold dashboard. The 2018 Altima should include an updated dash with a more pronounced face.
Updated technology: Technology is a necessity, no matter the vehicle. To appeal to younger drivers, the 2018 Altima should include more connectivity and audio system options.
2018 Nissan Altima: Updated Safety
The 2017 Nissan Altima was often noted for its great crash test ratings. With a mixture of structural stability and protective technologies, it became one of the safer sedans on the market. Nevertheless, Nissan always sees new ways to improve.
Rumor has it that the 2018 Nissan Altima will see a couple safety upgrades, too. Namely, its headlights and LATCH system should receive a few enhancements to improve overall protective capabilities.
