2017 Nissan Sentra: Inner Cabin Credentials

This year, the 2017 Nissan Sentra does a subtle trim shuffle, adding a brand-new trim known as the SR Turbo and removing a previous year’s trim, the FE+S. The new Sentra lineup is S, SV, SR, SR Turbo, and SL. All 2017 Sentra vehicles seat five passengers in two rows and boast premium interiors that are nicely dressed and well equipped.

Nissan Sentra InteriorAt 39.4 and 37.4 inches, the Sentra’s impressive front and rear legroom measurements can accommodate passengers of all heights with ease. The improved Nissan Sentra cabin also benefits from thicker sound insulation that seals out any under-the-hood hums to provide a ride that’s both comfortable and quiet.

Under the trunk lid, the Nissan Sentra reveals cargo room worthy of applause. 15.1 cubic feet is plenty of space and competes with the likes of many cars in the large sedan segment.

The Sentra Is an Eco Star and a Destined Top Safety Pick

The 2017 Nissan Sentra runs on an efficient and strong standard powertrain set: A 1.8L 4-cylinder motor that makes 124 horsepower, mated with a standard 6-speed manual transmission or the optional XTRONIC Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT).

With Nissan’s smooth shifting CVT calling the shots, the 2017 Sentra earns an EPA-estimated 29/37 MPG city/highway, which are great returns for the midsize car category.

Although the 2017 Nissan Sentra’s full crash test safety scores have yet to be released, based on its predecessor’s impressive safety performance (which earned the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s TOP SAFETY PICK+designation), we’re confident that the new Sentra will continue to shine when it comes to keeping your onboard passengers protected.

2017 Nissan Sentra SR Turbo

The headlining change to the 2017 Sentra lineup is the addition of the sporty, turbocharged Sentra SR Turbo. Offering 188 horsepower, a revamped suspension, and enhanced steering and brakes, the new turbo Sentra offers drive dynamics that are nimble, energetic, and inherently mighty.

Though EPA-estimates have yet to be finalized, Nissan projects the SR Turbo will earn statistics not far behind its efficient trim sibling at 26/32 MPG for city/highway driving.

Inside, the 2017 Sentra SR Turbo translates its under-the-hood pep to its dashboard, seats, and features. These elements make the turbo ready for all-season sport enjoyment. When it’s cold, you can heat up the supportive and stylish sport cloth seats. When the weather’s temperate, use the SR Turbo’s standard power sliding moonroof to let refreshing outside air in.

Nissan Sentra SR Turbo drivers will enjoy using the 5-inch color display running NissanConnectSM. This system simplifies staying in touch with friends and accessing music with features such as hands-free text messaging and SiriusXM® Satellite Radio. All Sentra models come with Bluetooth® connections and remote keyless entry.
