2016 Nissan Altima Review Brockton MA
Nissan has a long legacy of reliable vehicles with great gas mileage and an excellent warranty at a price that won’t break your bank. For a long time, the Nissan Altima has been one of the most trusted sedans on the road, and that’s no different. In fact, the new Altima stands to take its deserved place as a leader among this auto sector.
At Nissan 24, we’re pleased to provide a comprehensive review of the 2016 Nissan Altima for our Brockton, Randolph, and Stoughton customers.
2016 Nissan Altima Overview
The 2016 Nissan Altima received a complete overhaul this year after its most recent redesign in 2013. This new design beefs up the overall exterior appearance to bring it up to par with other vehicles in the company’s line. There are also some amazing added control and safety features, continuing the tradition of great interior comfort and technology features.
Nissan Altima Trim Levels and Tech
This sharp midsize sedan comes in five trim levels: the base level and the S, SR, SV, and SL levels. The base, S, and SV levels come with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, while the SR and SL levels offer an option for a 3.5-liter V6.
At the base level, you get keyless remote entry, push-button ignition, power accessories, AC, Bluetooth connectivity, and a four-speaker CD stereo.
The S level adds automatic headlights, Adaptive Cruise Control, keyless ignition, Siri Eyes Free, and a rearview camera and upgrades the audio system to six speakers, a 5-inch display, a USB port, and NissanConnect infotainment.
The SR level gives you daytime running lights, fog lights, sport suspension, shift paddles, and eight-way power adjust driver seat. The SV has remote start, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alerts, satellite radio, and automatic climate control.
The high-end SL adds a heated steering wheel and seats, vented seats, a four-way adjustable passenger seat, and a premium nine-speaker sound system by Bose. Additionally, at the 3.5L level, shift paddles, LED headlights, parking sensors, a 7-inch touchscreen, voice commands, and Google navigation connectivity are included.
Safety and Performance
The 2016 Altima comes with a strong set of standard safety features, including Traction and Stability Control, anti-lock brakes, and airbags at the front and side curtain areas. Options at the S trim and higher include rearview cameras, blind spot monitoring, cross-traffic alerts, forward collision warning and mitigation, and NissanConnect roadside assistance services. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has given the vehicle a top rating of good in overall crash tests.
As stated, the car comes with either a 2.5-liter four-cylinder or a 3.5-liter V6 engine. Both perform admirably, with the four-cylinder going from 0 to 60 in 7.5 seconds and the V6 hitting 60 in 6.2 seconds. The acceleration is punchy and powerful and performs above expectations for a vehicle in its class.
Driving and Comfort
The Altima’s continuously variable transmission handles with exceptional responsiveness, and the shifting paddles give you a great sense of control in mimicking the feel of a manual transmission. The steering is athletic, and the cabin does a great job of reducing engine and road noise.
There’s plenty of leg and headroom, and the interior upholstery and adjustable seating with lumbar support mean that you’ll stay comfortable on those long road trips.
There’s little doubt that the new design of the 2016 Nissan Altima will impress both longtime fans of this sedan as well as newer drivers looking for a change.
