This year’s Versa has a 1.6 liter, 109 horsepower dual fuel-injected four cylinder engine with plus twin continuously variable valve timing. It is tied to a continuously variable transmission.

The Versa has safeguards like front side impact torso airbags, roof mounted side airbags that protect all vehicle occupants and electronic stability control. Optional safeguards include Nissan’s Around View Monitor and a rear view monitor. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) rates the Versa as “Good” in almost all crash test categories. “Good” is the best possible rating that a vehicle can receive.
The Versa was only tripped up by the small overlap frontal category that nabs plenty of other vehicles as well. The federal government awarded the Versa with four stars out of five for its crash test performance.
