2014 Nissan NVP Review

With its stylish exterior, a spacious and adaptable interior, and plenty
of features packed into every inch, Nissan’s 2014 NV Passenger Van
was designed with versatility and the comfort of both you and your
passengers in mind.

Under the Hood

There are two engines available for the NVP’s three model lineup. The
standard engine for both the HD-S and the HD-SV is an efficient and
capable 4-liter V6. If you plan on doing a lot of heavy hauling or if
you just enjoy having as much power available under the hood as
possible, both models can be easily upgraded with the option
of a power-packed 5.6-liter V8.

2014 Nissan NV PassengerWhile it’s available as an option for the first two models, the
5.6-liter V8 engine comes standard on the HD-SL, which is the high-end
model of Nissan’s NV Passenger van lineup. The extra boost of power is
especially important for the HD-SL, which also comes standard with
towing equipment and an HD battery to add reliable hauling to its range
of abilities. With an 8,700 lb tow capacity, the NVP HD-SL combines
towing capability with plenty of passenger space, making it an excellent
vehicle for weekend adventures.

The exterior of the NVP is more stylish than you’d expect from a van in
its class. The HD-S starts off the lineup with modern design that
includes a sporty front end and 17″ steel wheels. The HD-SV and HD-SL
raise the bar even further with classic chromed wheels and
beautifully matching chrome trim.

The interior of the NVP doesn’t just meet the expectations for a good
passenger van, it exceeds them by far. With the ability to seat up to
twelve passengers, the six independent rear seats can provide 324
different seating combinations, so you can customize the cabin to fit
your passenger and cargo needs perfectly.

In addition to providing plenty of interior space, the NVP includes a
number of features for improved comfort as well. The passenger area has
twelve heating and cooling vents, water-repellent upholstery, and eight
cup holders.

audio and cruise control, six passenger area map lights, an eight-way
adjustable driver’s seat with side storage pocket, and a lockable center

The HD-SL takes your comfort even further, with leather appointed seats
and a leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated front seats, a
hands-free Bluetooth phone system, and dual-zone climate control.

Your safety on the road is important, which is why all of the NVP models
come standard with eight airbags and roll-over sensors, the largest
brakes in its class, and a heavy-gauge steel passenger compartment.

The HD-SV offers an additional rear sonar feature, so you’ll know how
close you are to things you might not see behind you. Rear sonar is
extremely helpful for parking in less than ideally-sized areas and gives
you the ability to maneuver through tight spaces and turns.

With the HD-SL, you’ll also have front and rear sonar systems, fog
lights, and an auto-dimming rear view mirror with compass. This model
was designed with towing in mind, so it also includes specialized safety
features- heated extendable mirrors, a Class IV receiving hitch, and
pre-wiring for a seven pin connector and brake controller.
