2013 Nissan Versa Sedan Review
2013 Nissan Versa Sedan Reviewed
Now in its second year, the 2013 Nissan Versa is one of the subcompact cars in the market out to prove that the classification “subcompact” does not always equate “inexpensive”—in a bad way.
The sedan version of the 2013 Versa is split into four trim: S, S Plus, SV and SL. The engine is a 1.6-liter four-cylinder that generates 109 horsepower and 107 pound-feet. The car has a front-engine front-wheel drive layout, with the S using a five-speed manual transmission and the other trims using a continuously variable transmission.
While the drivetrain of the 2013 Versa sedan is not a powerhouse, it is designed to provide better fuel efficiency than most vehicles. Fuel economy peaks at 31 miles per gallon (mpg) in the city and 40 mpg on the highway.
Each 2013 Nissan Versa sedan uses anti-lock braking system, Electronic Brake-force Distribution, Brake Assist and electric power-assisted speed-sensitive steering for its braking and handling abilities. Although all Versa sedan trims have 15-inch wheels, the ones on the SL are made of aluminum, while that of the others use steel. Multi-reflector halogen headlights go on each vehicle. The S Plus, SV and SL have rear spoiler and tire air deflectors, and the last two trims are beautified with chrome grilles and door handles. Only the SL has standard fog lights.
With interior space enough to accommodate up to five passengers, the 2013 Nissan Versa sedan offers an AM/FM/CD stereo system with auxiliary input jack for entertainment. The one on the S Plus, SV and SL has four speakers instead of two, and only the SL stereo has MP3/WMA playback compatibility.
Other exclusive interior features on the SL version of the 2013 Versa sedan include engine push button, remote keyless entry and Bluetooth hands-free phone system. For safety and security concerns, Nissan includes features like six airbags, front seat head restraints, vehicle immobilizer system, and lowered tethers/anchors and child safety rear door locks for younger passengers.
