2016 Nissan Titan vs. 2016 Ram 1500 Brockton MA
The 2016 Nissan Titan’s all-new capabilities are creating quite the buzz in the full-size pickup sphere. An overhauled build, improved engine choices, and the introduction of its own diesel performance trim make the Titan lineup more compelling than ever before.
To give truck seekers in Brockton, Randolph, and Stoughton a little perspective on how the next-generation Titan will perform in the half-ton market, we compared it to the full-size truck giant that’s known for its outer toughness and inner class: the 2016 Ram 1500. Rethinking Truck Performance
With each standard engine being a V6 model, the forthcoming 2016 Titan and the 2016 Ram 1500 share similar powertrain equipment. But the Titan’s larger 4.0-liter starting engine will most likely have a power advantage over the Ram’s 3.6-liter version. Like-size middle V8 engine choices look like they’ll be competitive in performance outputs.
The kicker? For 2016, the Nissan Titan makes the Ram no longer the only turbodiesel purveyor in the class. The brand of the Titan XD’s all-new turbodiesel V8 wears the same name as the motor that brings extra hauling power to heavy-duty Ram 2500 and 3500 models, Cummins. With 70 more horses and an astounding 135 additional lb-ft, the Titan XD’s 5.0-liter Cummins turbodiesel V8 makes the Ram’s 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 seem not so mighty after all.
These extraordinary torque numbers put the Titan’s towing output on a different playing field at a total capacity of up to 12,000 lbs. Comparatively, the Ram 1500 can only shoulder 10,450 lbs when it’s properly equipped.
Towing That’s Always in Tune
To manage pulling all of this extra weight, the 2016 Titan comes with a number of standard and available elements. The XD version is equipped with a built-in gooseneck hitch and commercial grade components to help you keep on trucking with total confidence. New customized features such as Nissan’s Intelligent Key with a special Trailer Light Check button make getting on the road an express procedure.
Trailer Sway Control and Hill Assist systems are shared tow safety standard on the 2016 Nissan Titan and the 2016 Ram 1500.
Your Workspace on Wheels
As the hallmark brand of luxury trucking, the 2016 Ram 1500 absolutely delivers when it comes to interior truck technology, and the Titan’s redesign was the perfect time for Nissan to get the solely utilitarian model back in the running.
Buyers will be excited to find many of Nissan’s advanced technologies making their way into the Titan’s trims. Push-button start, NissanConnect, and Nissan’s AroundView Monitor are fit to compete with the Ram 1500’s elaborate Uconnect infotainment system and various media add-ons. This new Titan also features a redesigned driver compartment for optimal comfort and more work-ready interior storage spots.
The all-new 2016 Titan is expected to arrive in the final days of 2015. With more power, strength, and smarts, it’s definitely worth the wait! Brockton, Randolph, and Stoughton area Titan chasers can contact their local Nissan 24 dealership for more information. You could be one of the first to get behind the wheel of the second generation 2016 Nissan Titan.
