Nissan Rogue Safety
Technology, reliability, entertainment, and a smooth ride are all important aspects of a new car, but possibly the most important consideration that comes into play is safety. When you purchase a new vehicle, you want to be sure that not only will it help you avoid accidents in the first place, but that it’ll protect you if the unthinkable happens. Nissan has a reputation for providing the best possible safety features in its vehicles, and the 2016 Nissan Rogue is no exception. Read why Brockton, Randolph, and Stoughton drivers appreciate Nissan Rogue’s safety features, and where you can test drive this innovative addition to the Nissan family.
Nissan Rogue Safety
Each of the three Nissan Rogue trim levels offer outstanding safety features. As with many vehicles, these features get better with higher packages, but even the basic Nissan Rogue’s safety features are outstanding.
Nissan Rogue S Safety Features
The basic safety and security features on Nissan Rogue S include cruise control, a rearview camera, and all the standards you’d expect, including anti-lock brakes; standard airbags at the front seat, side, and side curtain areas; hill-start assist; and stability and traction control. The all-wheel drive vehicle models include Hill Descent Control.
Nissan Rogue SV Safety
In addition to the standard features, stepping up to the Rogue SV trim level gives you the NissanConnect feature, which includes smartphone app integration and allows you to access telematics features. A Premium package allows you to add several features that come standard at the Rogue SL level. It also provides Blind-Spot Monitoring, Lane-Departure Warning, Forward Collision Alert, and Moving Object Detection.
2016 Nissan Rogue SL Safety Options
The best safety features for the 2016 Nissan Rogue are available at the top SL level. These include: a 360-degree parking camera, navigation system, emergency telematics integrated with your NissanConnect system—Geo-Fencing, Automatic Collision Notification, Emergency Assistance, Stolen Vehicle Location—and more. Adding the Premium package at this level also gets you Automatic Emergency Braking and Forward Collision Mitigation, as well as all the SV level premium features.
Nissan Rogue Safety Ratings
Nissan Rogue safety ratings are excellent. In government crash tests, the vehicle was awarded four out of five stars for overall crash protection. Frontal crash rating was four stars and side crash was five stars. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave the Rogue the highest possible “Good” rating in both small-overlap and moderate-overlap offset impact tests, as well as on side-impact, roof, and whiplash protection tests.
Auto review site Edmunds.com also put the Rogue through its paces and the SL all-wheel drive version came to a stop from 60 mph in 124 feet, which puts it in line with other vehicles in its class. There’s little doubt that you can feel secure while behind the wheel of a Nissan Rogue.
