If you’re a foodie who loves fast-paced contests, then a cooking competition is right up your alley. Of course, you’re not just restricted to the Food Network if you’re looking to see one.
The Culinary Fight Club brings competitions to different cities a few times out of every month. And fortunately for you, nearby Boston is a frequent stop. Check out this guide to learn how you can watch, or better yet, compete!
What Is the Culinary Fight Club?
The Culinary Fight Club is more than just a competition. It’s a national organization that brings creative food face-offs to different cities all across America, all of them benefiting a great cause!
The setup isn’t too different from many competitions you might see on TV. Competitors have 45 seconds to rush to the pantry and choose up to 15 ingredients. Once they’re all set, the countdown begins. By the end of the hour, they’re to create the savoriest gourmet dish that they can concoct, all based on a predetermined theme.
A panel of judges will make the final decision on these dishes. However, audience members get to have a say, too. If you taste something truly spectacular, be sure to let them know. Your opinion may just sway their final choice!
All for a Great Cause
Like we said, the Culinary Fight Club isn’t all for the fun of it. Proceeds go to an excellent cause. Money from ticket sales goes directly to the Fight2Feed nonprofit.
Fight2Feed partners up top restaurants with local food trucks to create meals for those who may be going hungry in communities all across the country. This way, those disadvantaged folks don’t just get a bit of sustenance. They get to fill their bellies with something truly enjoyable.
Want to Participate in the Culinary Fight Club?
Do you consider yourself a bit of a whiz around the kitchen? Maybe you’re ready to get out of the audience and get on stage to cook with the best of them. Well, in that case, you’re in luck. Anybody from gourmet chefs to hobbyists can sign up for the competition. Visit the Culinary Fight Club’s website to join in on the fun.
In the meantime, you might want to connect with them on Facebook to stay up to date on their constantly evolving schedule. They’ll be back in Massachusetts before you know it!
