St. Patrick’s Day 5Ks Near Plymouth, MA

St. Patrick’s Day is rapidly approaching, and there are a few ways that you can celebrate. Of course the standard ways are wearing green, drinking Irish spirits, and attending parades. But for running enthusiasts in the Brockton, Randolph, and Stoughton area, we list some 5K runs near Plymouth, MA, for St. Patrick’s Day.

1st Annual Plymouth Shamrock Shuffle

shutterstock_223478332If you want to avoid the usual St. Paddy’s Day itinerary and burn some calories, then the 1st Annual Plymouth Shamrock Shuffle might be for you. This is a 5K run that’s perfect for beginning runners; a 10K is available for seasoned runners.

The starting location for this race is still being determined, but it will involve a mix of dirt and pavement running that will begin at 10 am on Saturday, March 12. Register now, wear green, and receive a drink ticket for sponsored pubs that will be holding post-run events.

St. Paddy’s Day Classic 5K

The St. Paddy’s Day Classic 5K will begin on Sunday, March 13 at 10 am at Tavern on the Wharf, 6 Town Wharf, Plymouth MA. This 5K will go through the Edgewater area on a smooth flat terrain. Participants will receive a free beer ticket for the post-race activities that will include St. Patrick’s Day fun and festivities.

Runners are asked to bring canned goods and non-perishable food items that will be donated to homeless shelters.

6th Annual Marshfield St. Patrick’s Day 5K

running_coupleThe 6th Annual Marshfield St. Patrick’s Day 5K will be held on Saturday, March 19 at 10 am. The race will start at the Venus II, 277 Ocean Street, Marshfield, MA. This race will benefit the Marshfield Education Foundation. For the finalists, cash awards are available. The top three male and female runners will receive $500, $250, and $100, respectively.

Participants are required to pick up their bib and shirt at the Ventress building located at 72 South River Street. Shirt and bib pickups will be held March 15 through 17 from 5 to 8 pm. Parking will be limited, so carpooling is suggested for everyone who wishes to participate in the 6th Annual Marshfield St. Patrick’s Day 5K.

Running races and marathons is a fun and unique way of celebrating St. Patrick’s Day. So don’t do the usual St. Paddy’s Day celebrations like drinking green beer and singing Irish traditional music. Be active with your Irish holiday. Dust off your running shoes and your green shirts and join the races.
