At Nissan 24 in Brockton, we love serving Nissan customers from Attleboro. Once known as the Jewelry Capital of the World, Attleboro still shines with a thriving crop of young professionals, a historic downtown and loyal Bostonians of every stripe. With new couples and families moving in each year, Attleboro is a city that Boston residents should watch as one of the hottest communities in the Metropolitan Boston area.
One reason for the area’s growth is a commitment to revitalizing Attleboro’s historic downtown. In December 2011, the City of Attleboro was awarded $5.4 million in state and federal funding to create the Downtown Redevelopment and Revitalization Project. The project’s stated purpose was to utilize abandoned and unused commercial and industrial lands and turn them into mixed use public space like parks, picnic areas and commercial retail. The project also included updates to the T station and GARTA bus lines.
The revitalization project was such a success that a privately funded $6.8 million commercial revitalization followed in September 2012. This deal culminated in the creation of Renaissance Station, a luxury apartment and retail complex containing 80 luxury condos just walking distance from the T station. The building, created by Crugnale Properties of Mansfield, came through a joint partnership between commercial partners and the Attleboro Redevelopment Authority to partner public funding for parks and transit with private funding for commercial spaces designed to service the growing young professional community of Attleboro.
It is this marriage of fun and practicality that we love about Attleboro. After all, Nissan vehicles have been known for this type of balance since their inception. Take a look at vehicles like the versatile Nissan Rogue. Roomy enough to fit all your tailgate supplies for the Patriots game, but as fuel efficient as many compacts. Or take a Nissan Altima in Brockton, available with luxury features like push-button start and USB connectivity standard, but still every bit the affordable family car sitting well within your price range.
If you have never been to the new downtown Attleboro, check out Honey Dew Donuts, a great local coffee shop and donut house and active community partner, supporting causes like the Rodman Ride for Kids, local Scholarship Funds and the Pawtucket Red Sox.
